Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope this letter finds you well. We are thrilled to share some exciting news regarding the recently released results of the 2023 New York State English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics Tests. We are incredibly proud to announce significant growth in student performance, demonstrating the collective dedication and hard work of our entire school community.
In the 2023 NYS ELA Test, our students achieved a 1.2% growth (61% of the tested students were levels 3 or 4). In the NYS Mathematics Test, we achieved an impressive 7.2% growth (77% of the tested students were at levels 3 or 4), which places us in the top four elementary schools in mathematics in District 20. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and perseverance of our students, the expertise of our teachers, and the unwavering support of our parents.
It is crucial to emphasize that such remarkable progress is the result of a collaborative effort among students, teachers, and parents. Your involvement in your child's education, whether through homework assistance, encouragement, or active participation in school activities, has played a vital role in their success. We are truly grateful for your ongoing support.
As we move forward, we remain committed to providing the best possible education for our students. We are encouraged by these results, but we understand that there is always room for improvement. With your continued partnership, we are confident that we can build upon this success and continue to enhance the educational experience at P.S. 170.
Once again, congratulations to our students on their impressive achievements, and thank you to our dedicated teachers and supportive parents for making this possible. We look forward to a bright and successful future together.
Sincerely,
Tony Wu, Principal
