Computer Program

At PS 170, we recognize the pivotal role that technology plays in shaping the future of our students.  Our computer program is designed to empower students with essential digital skills, fostering a foundation for success in the 21^st century.  In the first half of the school year, students learn how to type using all 10 fingers with the Typing Using Touch Typing Technique.  The goal is to learn to type with accuracy and speed.  The second half or the school year, students use Scratch to learn Block Coding to create animations, stories and games to be future innovators and collaborators.
